Gill Cooke

Managing Director - Owner

My career in recruitment, sales and marketing plus experience working in another Loughborough agency, which is no longer around, was the foundation for Gill Cooke Personnel.  I also temped locally for several years.  I saw the need for an agency which was different – took more time to get things right and, most importantly, cared about people.  Today we are still different – and proud of it.  Our staff and our temp team are very special indeed!

Peter Cooke

Commercial Director - Owner

From a background as a professional Chartered Engineer at Senior Management level, I joined Gill in the early days of the business with the joint objective of creating a recruitment agency with a caring and considerate attitude to both Clients and Candidates.  That attitude remains fundamental to our business today and Gill and I are very proud of the team that now carries that mandate forward.

Caroline Nash

General Manager

I previously worked in sales but fell into recruitment in the mid-'80's when I registered with an agency for work and was offered a job managing the branch!  Moving here from the South East in 1992 I set about finding out who was providing the best recruitment service in the area. Matching my own ethos of offering an efficient, caring, quality lead service, tailored to the needs of local job-seekers and hiring managers, Gill Cooke Personnel fitted the bill! I joined the company in 1993, have worked with great people over the years and still get a real buzz from the job.

Hayley Biddulph

Recruitment Consultant - Commercial Team

I worked in IT recruitment in Leeds before relocating back to Loughborough in 2007 for the role of Recruitment Consultant on the Commercial Temp Desk, filling a variety of office based Temp roles in the area.  Following more than eight fulfilling, challenging, successful, rewarding (and sometimes frustrating!) years I took maternity leave in 2015, but have returned on a part-time basis, now placing job-seekers into permanent office based roles.  Same roller-coaster, same lovely team, and the same levels of satisfaction, but for three days per week, combined with the absolute joys of looking after a toddler!

Charlotte Smith

Recruitment Assistant - Commercial Team

I’m back! I initially registered (with Caroline) in 1997 and was placed in jobs I enjoyed within Customer Services and Sales Administration. In 2000 I was invited to join the in-house team as a Recruitment Consultant and loved placing office based workers into permanent roles until I left to have my son in 2005. I returned on a part-time basis from 2007 to 2009, gaining a broad range of experience across all divisions, before leaving to have my second child. It’s great to be back in the team, and great testament to Gill Cooke Personnel to see that job-seekers I’ve worked with over all those years have, like me, kept coming back.

Lauren Dixon

Recruitment Consultant - Commercial Team

When I left my career in the Royal Air Force after six successful years I had no idea where the skills and experience I’d gained would lead.   Little did I realise that there was an industry waiting for me!  Having had a couple of false starts with other agencies (who shall not be named!) I find the Gill Cooke Personnel “style” a refreshing change.  Working on placing office based temps, I love the variety of not knowing what each day will bring and get particular satisfaction from making those matches that aren’t obvious but turn out brilliantly - go us!

With my background in Sales & Administration I first approached Gill Cooke Personnel in 2011 when I moved back to Loughborough. Their approach was friendly and professional and they quickly placed me into a job I really enjoyed. Forward 7 years and I have joined the team as Recruitment Consultant- Commercial Division, working alongside Lauren on the placement of Office based temps in and around the area. I'm really looking forward to getting to know our clients and temporary workers.

Recruitment Consultant - Industrial Division

With sales and management experience gathered from roles within the manufacturing, construction, food, quality, and commercial cleaning industries, I am able to draw on all my experience to ensure I help both our clients and candidates at all levels find just what they are looking for.  I first registered in 1998, so have seen the operation from both sides.  Gill Cooke placed me in my last role, and when redundancy threatened, I joined the in-house team in 2009, heading up the Industrial Division!  Treating all workers with equal respect is my mantra; we are proud of our reputation in the local market place.

Sandra Di-Niro

Recruitment Assistant - Industrial Division

I registered as a jobseeker back in 2011 following redundancy and was promptly placed in a variety of work including a long term role with one of their then (and still!) major clients.  It was great being part of the Gill Cooke Temp team, and different to my experiences with other agencies.  I always felt cared about, with lots of contact, gifts at Christmas and Easter, and birthday cards.  Five years on, and hurrah! I was thrilled to join the in-house team, and now utilise that experience to support Hazel in the Industrial Division.  In my spare time I am a keen photographer, shooting weddings, portraits and even pictures for our website!

Melanie Haswell Rees

Recruitment Consultant - Technical and Scientific Vacancies

Having previously managed a customer service call centre, I knew it was key to listen and understand the needs and requirements of clients and customers alike.  This ethos came with me when I joined in 2005, and though I have supported all areas of the business I have managed the Technical/Scientific desk for over 10 years.  I also work on the financial side of the business. Having graduated with a BA in Fine Art, I challenge myself to incorporate creativity on a daily basis where possible – give me a spreadsheet and it will be redesigned and beautifully colour coded within minutes!  In my own time I also run a small business creating handcrafted cards and wall art.

Dianna Smith

Receptionist / Administrator

Having started out as an insurance ‘clerk’ (many years ago!) and subsequently having worked in a variety of administration and customer service roles since, I’ve concluded that face-to-face contact and providing assistance and support to people, is what I enjoy most.  My role here at Gill Cooke Personnel enables me to do exactly those things, within a company that shares my passion for high standards in our dealings with everyone who comes through our doors.

Sarah Bumpus-Bosch

Finance Administrator

I joined in 2015 following redundancy after 15 years of service for a company that had regularly used the services of Gill Cooke Personnel themselves!  With 25 years’ experience in accounting I was delighted to be offered the position of Financial Administrator after I had approached them to help me find employment.  I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of an established, highly regarded team within the local area, and am kept very busy making sure our lovely temps get paid on time!
